Sprucewood Briar (Labrador Retriever)
|
|
Born in 1977
Gelert was Kath’s first purebred dog.
A yellow with a very interesting pedigree. His father was a gamekeepers dog with many
of the famous old kennels behind him.
His mother was from show stock and again many of the well respected
affix’s there.
This was the dog
to start Kath’s interest in the gundog breeds, their pedigrees and their
abilities.

Johndy Creme Velvet (Labrador Retriever)
|
|
This yellow bitch
was the start of Wendy’s 20 plus years in the show ring. (her interest in the
breed began with a Labrador cross)
Velvet was a
yellow of the most loving, biddable temperament. Put to Lugsmill Barrister of Linjor
produced a very nice litter. Four of
these puppies went as Guide Dogs and were a great success.

Brackenlea Tess (Golden Retriever)
|
|
Kath’s second dog
was bought as a family pet but soon became her first show dog. Tess
was a fabulous family dog and was shown for a while as a yearling. We gained a VHC at a Golden Retriever Club
Championship show and, among other placings, a Best of Breed at an Open Show
in Neath. Unfortunately, as Kath
became more interested in the world of show dogs Tess became less so !!

Nantddu Diamond for Bryncae (Field
Spaniel)
|
|
TIA came to Kath
in 1993 and was the first to be registered under her BRYNCAE affix. It was a picture in a book that had started
Kaths interest in the Field Spaniel.
There followed many years of success in the showring and in the Minor
Breeds working tests and training days. Kath was delighted to be awarded the
RCC at Crufts one year. Also at this
time Kath had the honour of judging a Minor Breeds Working Test for WSSCSW.

Linjor Liebchen of Eddytion (Labrador Retriever)
|
|
A 2nd
litter from Velvet was not to be so Wendy bought in this black bitch from
Linda Major’s successful kennel – Suede.
Shown lightly as a youngster but just did not enjoy it. Kept by Wendy as a loving pet.
